My White Picket Fence – PPA141

My White Picket Fence

Today's project is inspired by PPA141 Sketch Challenge over at Pals Paper Arts.

PPA141 Sketch Challenge

The minute I saw this sketch, I knew I wanted to use my new Woodgrain Textured Impressions Embossing Folder to make a little picket fence. Since white fences remind me of new homes, I went with a theme that could be used for a wedding.  And, what's a wedding without flowers?  Stippled Blossoms heat embossed and embellished with pearls add the finishing touch.  You could also use this card for a house-warming.

Stippled Blossoms Embossed & Embellished with Pearls

Stippled blossoms is a 2-Step Stampin' Set meaning that you stamp the background first and the detail with a darker or contrasting color.  In this case, I chose to heat emboss the detail with Pewter Stampin' Emboss Powder instead of the darker color to give the flowers added dimension.  I also cut around some of the petals and curled them a little for even more 3D effect.  I used to shy away from anything that said 2-step Stampin' because I'm a klutz with the Stamp-a-ma-Jig.  But now, with the Clear Mount stamps, I'm a steppin' out with my 2-step.

If you haven't tried our new Heat Tool, you're really missing out.  Its slim, sleek design, makes it much easier to handle and with 2 speeds you can easily dry inks or emboss without burning your paper.  Give it a try.  You won't be sorry.
