PPA283 Color Challenge with Pals
Welcome to a new look to Pals Paper Arts and PPA283. A new look calls for a party! And, a party needs fun party favors, right?
Speaking of a new look, if you came over from the PPA283 Color Challenge at Pals Paper Arts, you’ll notice I have different photos here. Well…. it’s all about lighting. Cloudy days equal poor light. After submitting the original I was able to snag a few shots when the sun was out. Hope you enjoy the added perspective.
Party favors and gift boxes are easy with the Cutie Pie Thinlits (#138273). Decorate these sweet little wedges with buttons and bows, washi tape, enamel dots, just about anything will do. Even a little fussy cutting to make the words POP!

Wild West Tip: Wonder how I matched the Washi Tape at the point of the wedge? Easy!
- When assembling the box, attach at the point then lay the box out flat (tip to tip).
- Affix the washi tape to one side, over the top and down the other side.
- Voila! Perfectly placed Washi Tape layers on the cake.

Hi Rae – I like your projects. When the Paper Pumpkin came with the triangle boxes and that yarn to make those horrible pom poms I chucked that kit in the closet. I thought it was not only ugly but just dumb! Well, I pulled it out around Christmas time and made a couple of trees out of the boxes to send some candy in. My friend loved her little tree. I saw it on a blog where they wrapped ribbon on the side and then tied it up on top. I didn’t even think about the enamel or candy dots to decorate. I stamped Merry Christmas at the bottom and I think some little snowflakes on there. Well, she wanted a couple more for next year…..I will have fun decorating them. I E-mailed her the PP kit photo and she said yuck just as I did. Now, I almost want to get the thinlit die to make more of the trees or what you did today. I like what you did and made it a slice of cake. My favorite cake is carrot cake with cream cheese icing…..I wonder if I could make a slice to resemble the actual cake? This little box could hold some little 3×3 cards too. Her birthday isn’t until November so I have lots of time to play and think of different ideas. Thanks for helping me a long. I am still trying to figure out about the stupid pom poms and those feathers. Hope you are having a good new year!
Hi Chris! I was one of the odd balls that like that kit. LOL! I have a few samples on my Pinterest Board if that helps. I’m also building a gallery, see the menu above. I don’t have that kit in there yet so check Pinterest. The Cutie Pie Thinlit Die makes a box a little smaller than the Paper Pumpkin Box. We made one at our stamp camp last year that looked like a lemon cake.
