September 25th is National Comic Day!

Archie Comics

Do you remember your favorite childhood comic?  I hadn't thought about it for years.  Mine is Archie hands down!  What's yours?

I loved reading about the antics of Archie, Veronica, Betty, Reggie, Jugghead and Moose.  An avid reader at the ripe old age of 8 or 9, I dreamed of the day I would become a teenager so I could have the kind of fun they always seemed to have.

Those old comic books have been gone for a long time, but I'm happy to say, that Archie is still alive and well!   I'm sure the price was much less back in the 1960's.

Now for some fun.  Click on the link for an Archie trivia game.

  2. I also liked the Archie Comics.  My favorite character was Betty.  Whenever I hear the song, "Sugar, Sugar" on the radio it brings me back to those happy days of reading the comics.  (I think I got my copy of the "record" on the back of a Honey Combs box!)

  3. My favorite comicbook character when I was growing up had to be Superman. I broke my leg when I was in the 5th grade and Mom bought me a stack of comics. Of course, back then they weren't very expensive. I loved them.

  4. Mom only allowed Archie at the house and Jughead was my favorite but my grandfather would buy me super hero comics when I would visit. We would walk to the corner store and he'd always say ' don't tell your mother' LOL thanks for a great memory of Grandpa I hadn't though of in forever!

  5. I always read the comic book "Archie" but always look forward seeing "Veronica"!  I thought she was such a cool girl!!!  LOL!!!!
