Wonderful Butterfly
It’s time to share some outside inspiration starting with this wonderful butterfly by a dear friend, Ruth Blumberg.
Every month few of my friends get together and share ideas, paper crafting and great food. This is one we shared in March. I thought it would be fun to re-make it with current Stampin’ Up! products.
First change made was the stamp set. This was a real dilemma since I don’t have anything remotely similar to the beautiful set Ruth used. My Digital Studio (MDS) to the rescue! The stamp MDS Stamp Brush set is called Sweet Summer and is included with the MDS Software.
Even though the color she used (Sage Shadow) is retired, it’s still available in MDS. I chose to use a Gumball Green so current matching card stock and ink could be used. A shadow was used to give the main image some depth. Hard to see here but you would definitely see a difference if it was taken off.
Summer Sweet Butterfly
The Elegant and Bitty Butterflies are from the Papillon Potpourri traditional stamp set inked with Gumball Green Classic Ink and punched with coordinating punches, Elegant Butterfly and Bitty Butterfly. Pearls Basic Jewels add just the right accent.
Now for the inside. This is where MDS really shines on a card.
The outside was duplicated and the density was changed to about 50% of the original creating a perfect backdrop for the inside sentiment. In case you’re wondering, all of the text is also from My Digital Studio. So easy!

These are just a few tricks for maximizing your My Digital Studio software. Digital can still be handmade.

Beautiful card. I have not purchased MDS yet mainly because I don’t understand all it’s capabilities and home printing ability. But this lovely card has inspired me to do a little research, I love the Gumball green with the pearl accents. So elegant.
