Creative Elements PPA133
It's time for another Sketch Challenge over at Pals Paper Arts and what a challenge it is!
I really love the combination of circles, squares and rectangles that Pal Margaret Moody put together in this sketch.
I thought about the focal point first. And, it just so happened that I had a cork butterfly fluttering around from a previous experiment with my Big Shot. She rested beautifully on my scalloped circles so I attached her with a bit of Crystal Effects.
Perfect!
Next, decide on the color scheme and Designer Series Paper. Easy, since butterflies have a light, romantic feel, why not use up some of my Beau Chateau Paper? Stamps? Creative Elements adds just a touch of rustic/romantic flair.
But something was still missing. I tried buttons, more pearls and brads but they just didn't work. So, on a whim, I punched holes in the wings of the butterfly with my Crop-A-Dile and use the Cork Dots" left over as buttons. Voila! I attached them with a dot Crystal Effects. Those little bits of cork pull the gazer's eye from the butterfly to the sentiment naturally.
Good thing it worked because I punched the holes AFTER the butterfly was attached. Warning: Don't try that at home!
And, finally, the inside.
The best part? I was able to make a complex card from just a few items I had on hand.
