“A Little Cowboy in All of Us”
"That's an UGLY stamp!" were the first words out of my mouth when I saw this stamp in our new catalog. The horse looked naked to me, void of the beautiful coat I always worked so hard to make shine. But, on second glance, it looked like an old-world line drawing. OK, I'm warming up now. So, I challenged myself to do something with it. I'm kind of funny that way. My mom always taught me to "take the dress off the rack and try it on" before making a decision. Some of my best creations (and clothing choices) have been the result of that advice. Thanks Mom! This set has it all; focal image, sentiments and an accent image.
This creation also features some new items from our Holiday Catalog; Core-dinations™ Card Stock in Early Espresso and the new Woodgrain Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. When using this "white core" card stock with an embossing folder, the distressing is done for you. Of course, you could still sand it, using our exclusive new Sanding System like I did the edges of the placard. It really depends how much core you want revealed. You'll see me use a lot of these two items in the future, being the rusty old paper-crafter I am, and all. (oops, I mean Rustic.)
The coloring detail on the horse was done with Blender Pens and Classic Ink pads. Don't be afraid to use several colors when coloring an image like this.

Love it! Beautiful embossing on the Core, too.
This card is completely gorgeous. One of my favorites from the pals swap.
