Hello, My Friend
Today, I'm honoring dear old friends, as well as some newcomers that have already earned a spot on my "best friends" list. As you can probably tell, I'm in love with the new Woodgrain Textured Impressions embossing folder. I'm finding all kinds of uses for it like creating an accent piece from a non-traditional color. It compliments one of my old friends, the Woodgrain Background Stamp, so nicely. Another old favorite, "My Friend" stamp set is stamped right over the wood grain image.
When I started out for today's project, I knew I wanted something simply stated, but my creative juices just wouldn't cooperate. After ending up with a mountain of tools and supplies on my work area, I turned to a favorite magazine and found the inspiration I needed. Although my card doesn't look anything like the magazine image, it really helped me through my slump.
Look closely and you'll see darker areas on the stamped image. The solid parts of this stamp don't seem to like our old, cloth or felt ink pads and this is a color I haven't replaced yet. So, I took my trusty blender pens out and colored in parts of my flower.
Here's what they looked like before I colored them in. I'll live with the dark spots, for now.
And here's a sample using one of our new, "Firm Foam" Classic Ink Pads in Raspberry Ripple.
Big difference! Bye, bye cloth, hello Firm Foam!

My Friend.
