First Day of School – Mojo Monday
It's Mojo Monday time again! I haven't played along for a few weeks so I thought I'd give this one a whirl. I also challenged myself to use a limited amount of supplies. With this sketch, that was a challenge indeed. There's so much going on.
Many little ones are heading back to school this week, some of them for the first time. What about a bit of encouragement for them? Storybook Designer Paper is just the ticket. Looking at the sketch, the square piece that's set at an angle looks like an old slate or writing tablet. The long, narrow black piece resembles a ruler or a couple of pencils. The pencils were just too bulky. I settled on cutting out a ruler from the Storybook Designer Paper. There are so many cute, school time images on this Designer Series Paper. I think they should consider renaming it School Time.

There are so many colors and layers to this sketch and paper that you don't need many other embellishments. Pop up some of the layers with Stampin' Dimensionals. Add a little paper-piercing, a couple pieces of ribbon and it's done.
The ribbon I used is part of the "Back to Spool" promotion going on now through September 30th. For every $40 you spend, before sales tax and shipping, you'll receive a spool of 3/8" Stitched Satin Ribbon in the color of your choice. That's like someone handing you $8.95! I upgraded "My Digital Software" to MDS2+, added a downloadable graphic, and received 2 spools FREE. Woohoo! Click here for more information on the Back to Spool Special Offer.
Now I just have to find a youngin' to give this to.
