Thanks So Much Mojo Monday!
I’m so glad it’s Monday, aren’t you? What? It’s Friday? Already? Yikes! Thanks so much Mojo Monday for starting me over again, I think.
Now that the weekend is almost here, and the sun is finally shining, what are your plans? Yard work? Picnic? Baseball? The list goes on and on. Here at base camp, it’s a little bit of everything. Top on the list is getting out for some fresh air and sunshine. First, there are some “thank you’s” and birthday greetings that need to get in the mail. So the projects better be quick so I can get outside. Here we go.
The first thing I usually do is pick a stamp set or paper and decide to build the project around it. When I saw the Mojo Monday sketch, I knew I wanted Tea for Two Designer Series Paper (#129311) because of a beautiful chevron pattern found on one of the sheets. Since I wanted a dark background, I was thrilled to see it had Early Espresso in it’s color palette. I simply cut out the chevron pattern and set it aside for later assembly.
Tip: Did you know that the color palettes used in Stampin’Up!’s Designer Series Paper can be found in the catalog? Yep! It’s part of the description. No guessing!
The Chevron Textured Impressions Embossing Folder (#127749) was used on to emboss a piece of Early Espresso card stock for the top half of the card instead of more patterned paper to keep the card simple but interesting.
Finally, to choose a stamp. This time it was a no-brainer. The Oh, Hello Stamp Set (#130730 [w], #130733 [c]) is a perfect match for the Tea for Two DSP. To see another example, see pages three and four of the 2013 Occasions Mini Catalog. You’ll also see the stamp set bundled with Oval Framelits for a 15% discount but only until the catalog expires, on May 31, 2013. The bundle numbers are #131101 [c]; or #131102 [w].
“Thanks So Much” was heat embossed with Pewter Stampin’ Emboss powder. Always try to heat emboss before your card goes together. It’s much easier to replace a card base than rebuild the entire project if something goes wrong.- Heat Emboss
- Dry Emboss with Chevrons
- Adhere Chevron embossed piece
- Adhere DSP piece with Dimensionals
- Wrap ribbon and pull through a large button, tie knot.
An optional step would be to decorate the inside for easy writing.
There you have it. An elegant card with minimal supplies. Thanks so much Mojo Monday!

Keep them coming.
Have a beautiful weekend and
Thank You for stopping by!
Love your card and cute and easy idea cutting out the chevron. I love easy embellishments like that!
Thank you Penny. Sometimes the easiest embellishments take the longest to see. But then, I do a lot of standing on my head so I can see things differently. What? I can just turn the paper over? Wow! Now that’s thinkin’.
Hi Rae! Love your card today. It looks so 3D – like it is popping up off the card. The inside is a nice touch too. The colors are so pretty together – so soft with the chocolate which is really early expresso. I think I have chocolate on the brain today as it reminded me of a Hershey’s chocolate bar! Well, I had better get going, the day and weekend will be over before I know it.
