One Scrappy Little Bird
When deciding to enter a “Send a card a day for 7 days” challenge I didn’t realize how good it would make me feel. This project, “one scrappy little bird”, was card #6. The purpose of the challenge wasn’t to make a new card every day, but to send a card every day. How many of us have stacks of beautiful creations that no one has seen? Just think of the smiles that are waiting at the other end of an address, just waiting to shine.
I’ve been on a kick to use DSP (Designer Series Paper) scraps whenever I can and this card is no exception. All of the pieces of Afternoon Picnic DSP were leftover from a scrapbook class from earlier this year.
The background piece is the negative piece left from cutting a 3″ circle with the Big Shot. A few tools, a little ribbon and these scraps were turned into an Afternoon Picnic with a little feathered friend.
One of the things I love about builder punches is how quickly they can turn a so-so card into a work of art. The background “halo” was created with paper-piercing using the Essentials Paper-Piercing pack.
And the Wisteria Wonder Chevron Ribbon looks like it was made for this paper! Hmm…. do you think I’m on to something? I love this ribbon! It ties so nicely and the bows stay put!
Put all of these pieces together and you have one scrappy little bird! So, save those scraps. You never know when you’ll have the perfect opportunity to put them to use on a very special project.
