PPA246 Color Challenge with the Pals
Welcome to PPA246 Color Challenge with the Pals. Perfect colors for an Easter celebration!
Have you ever tried dying your Easter Eggs with Stampin’ Up! Classic Reinkers? I’ve always wondered if it would work. I found this method on Pinterest from Julia Pitta. Give it a try.
You’ll need (per color):
- Hard-boiled eggs
- 3 Tablespoons White Vinegar
- 1/2 cup water at room temperature
- 5 to 10 drops of Stampin’ Up! ink in your favorite color. You may need more if the color is very light.
- Glass or Cup
- Large Spoon
- Drying Rack (I use a cake rack)
Optional:
- Coordinating Stamp Pad
- Sponge Dauber
- Spritzer loaded with brown ink and water (Soft Suede was used here)
- Mix the Vinegar, Water and Ink in a glass or cup.
- Gently place one hard-boiled egg in the cup.
- Let set between 2 and 5 minutes depending on how intense you’d like the color. You can add more ink or leave it in the water a little longer.
- Remove from the dye solution and set out to dry completely.
Polka Dot Egg:
- After the egg is completely dry, apply the same color ink from a Classic Ink Stamp Pad with a sponge dauber.
Speckled Egg:
- Spritz with a medium to dark brown ink/water solution. Soft Suede was used here. Keep spritzer about 10″ from the egg when spritzing
- You can also fill an Aqua Painter with the ink solution and flick the end of the brush tip to apply the speckles.
So, if you haven’t colored those eggs yet, get out the ink and have some fun! Come up with your own decorating techniques. These little cuties will be placed by the plates on our Easter dinner table.
Psst…. A little birdie told me that Stampin’ Up! has a surprise for all of us tomorrow, April 3, 2015. I’m “dying” to see what it is!
