PPA255 Color Challenge with Pals
Happy Thursday or what some of us call Friday Junior! You know what that means, right? It’s time to play with Pals Paper Arts. So, come join me for PPA255 Color Challenge with the Pals.
What do you think, Father’s Day? Birthday? As you can see this trio of rich colors spoke to me in “Guy” talk. That means earthy and lots of texture. The guy that I heard for this was one salty dog complete with beard and a peg leg.
The stamp set used is a tried and true masculine set, “The Open Sea”.
Early Espresso and Marina Mist were both used to distress this project. If you look very close you’ll even see distressing on the card base. Why Early Espresso distressing on card stock of the same color? Believe it or not the tone on tone distressing adds even more dimension and richness without screaming at you. Now THAT’s Wild!
Another piece that adds pow is the Linen Thread. It’s really popular right now to lay down thread or twine behind a focal piece in a way that looks haphazard. Love this look.
Tip: Don’t be afraid to let yourself “color outside the box” literally on this kind of card. Lots of times little “accidents” make the best shabby projects.
Now it’s your turn. Come join us over at Pals Paper Arts to play PPA255 Color Challenge!
Thank you for stopping by. . .
Mike pretty well summed it up! Great card! I really liked the challenge colors. Have a good weekend.
Rae, what a beautiful job you did with this challenge. This is such a classic stamp set and I love how you’ve used it. Well done!
