Celebrate Glitter!
It may not look like it but the Wild West Pick this week is….. Gold Stampin’ Glitter (#133457). Congratulations Chris R. on your guess! Hold your horses, you’ll see me celebrate glitter in just a minute. First, a story.
A group of friends gather at my house about every month. Three of us create cards for everyone to make. Those not creating cards bring the food. Great food and crafts with friends. A real “win-win”! This month it seems I’ve had a bit of creative block. Pinterest to the rescue! While this is not an exact replica of the inspiration (provided by a pin from Kathleen Wingerson), it sure helped get those creative juices flowing. Thanks Kathleen!
Now for the Gold Stampin’ Glitter. After the girls left I started thinking.. hmm, wonder what this card would look like with some glitter scattered around.
Hard to see in the photo but in the sunlight, it really shimmers. How did I make it stick? Spray adhesive.
Just a quick, light spray and then a dusting of glitter. Then, flick the back of your card with your finger to remove the excess. Done! Loctite brand is shown here but any brand will do.
Tip: I put all of my Stampin’ Glitter in small, glass salt shakers. Their in expensive and easy to use. Less waste and chance of a major spill. Psst… you can still get the Gold Stampin’ Glitter on sale until 11:59 pm Mountain Time tonight, (June 22, 2015). Now THAT’s Wild!
If you took the time to guess the Wild West Pick of the Week on my June 16-22, 2015 Weekly Deals Post, you’ll get a tutorial with complete supply listing, for this card emailed to you tomorrow. If not, there’s a new set of deals tomorrow with another chance to guess. You’ll find a partial supply list at the foot of this post. You can also get these tutorials by purchasing your Stampin’ Up! products through me. Just make sure to email me (rae@wildwestpaperarts.com) after you make your online purchase.
Till then….
Have a Wildly Creative Day

Ohhh, I like this card too for the 4th! Thanks for the info about the spray adhesive! I gotta get some of that stuff. There is another technique that uses it too – the used dryer sheet with glitter technique I saw on a holiday card. I can see some of the glitter on the card and it looks so fun and festive! Using a salt shaker is a cool idea too! Plus, the Everything Eleanor set! I do know where the Celebrate stamp comes from! Oh, I love getting extra mileage out my Paper Pumpkin stamps! The other card is still my favorite but this is cute and quite doable! Loving the candy dots too! Fun and great card!
Chris… thank you for your great comment! I really enjoy reading them. Have a wildly creative day!
