PPA263 Color Challenge with Pals
Welcome to PPA263 Color Challenge with Pals! Do you look forward to challenge days like I do? Sure hope so. Especially when they s-t-r-e-t-c-h those creative muscles. The colors this week are so beautiful and bright. Together they could be a bit overwhelming. So… bring on the white space!
Sometimes in the middle of everything new it’s fun to bring out the tried and true. That’s what the Bird Builder Punch (#117191) is for me. When a little spray of greenery (or turqouisery) is needed grab this handy punch and you’ve got it lickety-split. In fact, I had intended to use the Bouquet Bigz L Die (#137637) for the Big Shot Machine (#113439) for the branch but was too lazy.
Love those Stampin’ Up! punches!
Make the layers a little more interesting, just add texture. Even the wrinkle through the middle panel gets in the act. Texture on the little birdie wing ties it together from top to bottom, or front to back depending on your point of view.
The wild linen thread adds an earthy element that fits my style. Looking at the thread now it resembles a nest. Hmm…. What do you think? Random, tangled mess or bird’s nest?
Join me and the rest of Pals Paper Arts Design Team 2 to play PPA263 this week. Create a project, post to your blog or another online gallery, then link it up! You’ll find rules at Pals Paper Arts. Entries for PPA263 must be posted by Tuesday, August 18, 2015, Noon Eastern Time.

Wow!! Absolutely fabulous!! So creative my friend!!
Thank you Amy!
Very pretty Rae! You rocked this challenge, but then again you rock every challenge!
Thanks a bunch Beth!
Rae, this is beautiful, and it’s amazing that all that intricate work was done with a punch and a die! This is a very impressive card that would be perfect for a beginner’s class. CAS at its best.
Thank you so much Mike.
Whether you call it a birds nest or a random tangled mess, I think it adds the perfect touch. Really like this layout and the colors.
Thank you Norma. I think I’ll go with nest on this one. It was a complete accident but it works!
A purple Martin for the bird for sure! Oh so cute! I love all the texture from the EF and all those luscious layers! The leaves and the string all tie it together. Sorry, about that! It is the perfect compliment the way it is looped around. Simply gorgeous card!
Thank you Chris! No sorries needed. 🙂
Oh Rae, your card is darling!! There’s not enough room for all the exclamation points I want to use!!! I love that little bird but don’t use him often enough. And you’ve used the colors beautifully!! This is an absolute hit!!
Thank you Peggy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
