Irish Tea for Mom & PPA292
It’s a bit o’ Irish tea for Mom and PPA292. Happy St. Paddy’s Day!
What is the difference between Irish, English and Scottish Breakfast Teas? Read to the end for a link to the answer. But first, a little fun.
It’s Thursday! Time for another play date with Pals Paper Arts. This week we have a sketch by Beth Beard, one of Pals Paper Arts Sketch Team. Beth is knows for her romantic designs. This sketch holds true to her style. Thank you Beth!
Family: This color of green reminds me of a couple people that I have the good fortune to call family. My Mom and my paternal Great Grandma Flynn-Harper. Both have had (Mom still does) a big impact in my life but Great Grandma was an Irish Lady for sure. She was in her sixties when I was born so I didn’t see her beautiful red hair, or meet the twin sister she cried over until the day she died. But we did have fun doing Irish jigs and singing some of the old songs she remembered. Great times for sure! Now you know the real reason St. Patrick’s Day is my favorite holiday. OK, back to the challenge.
Since I’m on the “Color Team” I can mix things up a bit and use retired product. Good thing! For the life of me I couldn’t find a current embossing folder that was even close to a Belleek Irish Porcelain pattern. So, out came the reinforcements (aka retired product). Still not perfect but it works.
Decisions: When deciding on a Framelits purchase the detail elements make or break my decision. In this case, the heart-shaped steam piece, flatware, swirls and waves are what make this die set are what sealed the deal. And of course a coordinating stamp set is the finishing touch! Both the Cups & Kettles Framelits and A Nice Cuppa Photopolymer Stamp set are available as a bundle at 15% savings, or seperately as shown below.
The Envelope Please: To embellish or not to embellish. How to decide. It’s all a matter of time for me. I’d love to decorate every, envelope flap but let’s face it, many times we’re under the gun to get something in the mail. In this case, I used pieces left over from the card creation. A doily piece here, a half a circle there and voila! A pretty envelope flap.
