Project Flutterbye for PPA293
Welcome to Project Flutterbye for PPA293. Flutter what?
Before I explain…. welcome to the Pals Paper Arts PPA293 Color Challenge. Spring has sprung at Pals paper Arts even if the weather says otherwise. Get ready to play with a sweet trio of colors, Mint Macaron, Blushing Bride and So Saffron put together by fellow Color Design Team Member Michelle Gleeson. Thank you Michelle for a beautiful color challenge to usher in Spring.
Butterflies, I love butterflies and Stampin’ Up! has some beauties, like The Watercolor Wings Photopolymer Bundle (Item 140232).
Now… for a Project Flutterbye explanation.
- First “Project” stands for the Project Life Specialty Card window sheet used to showcase the butterfly.
- Second, “Flutterbye”. My fun name for a butterfly. When thinking of the compound word butterfly, a very different image comes to mind. A cube of butter with wings. How’s that for thinking outside the box? Now, think about a butterfly (flutterbye). Don’t they seem to just flutter bye?
There you have it…. Project Flutterbye.
Flutterbye Creation:
- Stamp the small butterfly on Whisper White cardstock using each of the three challenge colors for the wings and Basic Grey for the body and antennae.
- Place the Window Sheet overlay on top of the stamped butterfly. Use the Fine-Tip Glue Pen to secure.
- Die Cut the small butterfly from Botanical Gardens Designer Vellum Stack another 2016 Sale-A-Bration gift. Attach with Fine-tip Glue Pen.

Rae, I think this card took the cake home this week!! I always appreciate your ability to think outside the box, so to speak, and this card is another example. I adore the layout. The butterfly is exquisite. And, seriously, a PL card base? Great job with the color combination, Pal!
Thank you Katy! I love cake!
This is gorgeous, Rae! Love your flutterby! I just got these PL cards yesterday. Thanks for the inspiration!
Thank you and you’re welcome Michelle. I’m so glad I picked the PL cards for one of my free gifts. Super cute things in that package!
Rae, the butterfly DSP peeking out just makes this card. Such a lovely card.

Cute card, Rae! I do have this collection…guess I should open it and see what other wonderful things it has to offer. Great alternate use for Project Life, thanks for sharing it today.
Karen… yes… open the package. I was so surprised and happy I chose the Project Life Memories in the Making pack as one of my Sale-A-Bration gifts. Love them!
Love the term flutterbye, and the use of the project life window sheet card is the perfect frame for your flutterbye!
Thank you Michelle. I’m sure I’m not the first one to use that term. So glad you like it as much as I do.
