Welcome Friday Junior (aka Thursday)!  Ready for a sketch challenge?  Rose Sketch is my take on the PPA296 challenge this week.

The Pals Paper Arts sketch team is back with yet another fabulous sketch. The Sketch Team has created cards to get those creative juices flowing.  Directions for sharing your work of art can be found toward the bottom of this post. We would LOVE it if you’d play along.

This is the first project using the Rose Garden Thinlets Dies (140619) for me.  There are so, so many beautiful examples around the internet.  Sure hope these beauties carry over to the new Stampin’ Up! 2016-2017 Annual Catalog on June 1st.  Guess we’ll see in just a few days when this year’s Retirement List comes out. In this project you see the Thinlets paired with the Timeless Elegance Designer Series Paper (138444). Perfect balance between the “stained glass” look of the rose and delicate romance of this paper.

The Rose:  First, the leaves and rose were die-cut in Basic Black cardstock (121045).   The rose was then adhered to Very Vanilla cardstock (101650).  I used 8-1/2×11 sheets.  After drying, the very vanilla was trimmed close to the edge of the black die cut.  Then… the entire piece was embossed with the Softly Falling Textured Impressions Embossing Folder (139672).
