Bye Bye Birdie for PPA301
Happy challenge day! Bye Bye Birdie and I are excited to be the featured designers and your hosts for Color Challenge PPA301 from Pals Paper Arts.
What does being the “featured designer” mean? First, it means I’m your host for the challange this week. Secondly, the trio of colors (Bermuda Bay, Crushed Curry and Pool Party) were chosen by me. Fun!
I love tags. They’re like little works of art that make any package special, no matter how small. This tag is made with many tools and products that will be gone soon. Yes, even the Bird Builder Punch is taking a final bow. Bye Bye Birdie…. so sad to see you go.
The tag base is cut from White Corrugated Paper, also retiring. After punching corners with the Curvy Corner Trio Punch, a stamp from the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set adds some color to the background of white. A Tea Lace Doily and a duo of small tags create the foundation for the little bird. Look closely at the bird’s wing and you’ll see a little delicate shimmer from a Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Brush.
If you love doilies, you’re probably wondering why the Tea Lace Doilies are retiring. Well, if you haven’t looked yet, they’re being replaced by a new design. Cool!
Add some White Sequins, a pearl, some Baker’s Twine and ribbon and you’re done.
Now it’s your turn. What will you make for PPA301? Here’s some info to get you started.

Such a gorgeous tag, Rae! Every detail is perfect to create a wonderful project. Love it! Great color challenge this week, Rae. Thanks for the inspiration.
Thank you Brian!
I have to start by saying thank you for such a fun color combination. It was bold, bright and gorgeous. You tag is so pretty. I would love to have this on a package! I never really used the corrugated paper although I have some from a paper share. I never really quite knew what to do with it. Now I do, I will make some tags.
Thank you and you’re welcome. 🙂 Glad you liked both.
Plain fun and oh so many retiring products! Love the comment about tags being little works of art! I wasn’t sure about those colors but yours and everyone else’s seems to handle those colors just fine. They just must be out of my comfort zone? Who knows. Love all the fun details.
Thank you Chris! I always look forward to your thoughtful comments.
Gorgeous tag…I like to think of you as the queen of details and this does not disappoint!
Thank you Windy. That’s an amazing compliment considering I know many Pals that claim that crown. 🙂
Such a gorgeous tag, Rae! Thanks so much for this fun combination!
Thank you Michelle for your nice comment.
Absolutely darling tag Rae! Love how you got that bit of color in the background and it’s just perfect.
Thank you Lynn!
You delivered as I promised that you would in my blog post! This is one very special tag and I will definitely CASE it. So thanks for sharing, Pal…. 🙂
Katy,
I just read your beautiful introduction on your blog post today. Thank you so much. Bye the way…. I don’t know if you realize how much of an inspiration your work is as well. Thank you for this great comment too.
What a beautiful tag. Love the colors and all the elements you have applied. I’m saddened to see the Bird Builder punch leaving 🙁
Me too Janell.. Should we have a farewell party? I guess they were worried about the Fox (builder punch) getting into the Birdhouse. Thank you so much for the comment. 🙂
