Colorful Botanicals for PPA305
Welcome to Thursday’s Challenge, some colorful botanicas for PPA305. Hang around a bit and play.
Today’s project is inspired by a beautiful, fresh color pallet offered up by fellow Pals and Design Team Member, Windy Ellard. Windy has combined some cool, ocean colors for us this week as we officially head into Summer here in the states.
One word comes to mind with these colors, crisp. Along with crisp comes clean, at least in my mind. Having Whisper White to work with makes it so easy to keep the design both clean and crisp.
Botanical Blooms may not be so obvious a choice for this color pallet but oh how I love this pair of dies and stamps.
Size: A2 (4-1/4 x 5-1/2)
Supplies: See list at bottom of this post.
Paper Cuts:
- Whisper White – 4-1/4 x 5-1/2 (1 piece scored at 2-3/4); 4 x 5-1/4 (1 piece); scraps for flowers
- Pool Party – 4-1/8 x 5-3/8 (1 piece); Scrap for flower
The Blooms
- Large Layered Flower: Stamp two large, single blooms. One in Island Indigo, one in Pool Party. Die cut with matching Framelit. Sponge edges of both with Island Indigo Ink. Stamp center of Pool Party flower with flower center stamp using Island Indigo. Lightly curl with Bone Folder. Adhere together as shown. Die cut flower center from Island Indigo cardstock. Adhere to center of flower. Attach a Rhinestone.
- Small Single Flower: Stamp one small, single bloom in Pool Party Ink. Die cut with matching Framelit. Sponge edges with Island Indigo Ink. Attach a Rhinestone to center.
- Large 3D Flower: Die cut one large “Pop-up” blossom from Pool Party cardstock. Sponge all edges with Island Indigo Ink. Die cut large flower center from Whisper White card stock. Sponge all edges with Pool Party Ink. Curl all petals. Remove one inside petal and set aside. Attache flower center and Rhinestone.
Background & Envelope Flap
Use both Island Indigo and Pool Party Classic Ink to create background with tiny blossom cluster stamp. Use the Stamp Off technique to vary the ink intensity. Decorate the envelope in the same way.
Pulling it all together
- Attach the card base layers together with Fast Fuze.
- Attach the flowers as desired with Glue Dots or Multipurpose Liquid Glue.
Pool Party, Island Indigo with Whisper White may have you thinking about water, but take a look at our Design Team samples at Pals Paper Arts and you’ll quickly see it is versatile palette. Now it’s your turn! We would love to see what you come up with!
