Sending Sunshine and Hugs for PPA309
Wow! Busy week! Between the Blog Hop yesterday and PPA Design Team duties today it feels like I just fell out of a whirlwind! Just in case you feel that way, I’m sending sunshine and hugs for PPA309.
Our color trio this week comes from fellow Pal and Color Design Team Member Katy McGloin at Just Fun Stamping. Island Indigo, Sahara Sand and Sweet Sugarplum is just what I would expect from Katy. I can’t wait to see what she’s come up with for us.
Meanwhile, back at the ranch, it looks like the cow kicked the bucket over on my project. That’s OK… I love to splatter ink (and paint). Great way to hide flaws. If you’ve been to my home you know which room I speak of.
Colorful Sunshine I used the “watercolor wash” stamp from Sunshine Sayings to stamp all three challenge colors randomly on Whisper White cardstock. Then, using the Sunshine Wishes Thinlits Dies, cut “Sunshine” from the piece you just created. Don’t forget to smudge the edges of the word, just a smidgen, using any brown you have on hand. I used Early Espresso Classic Ink here. Use a small scrap left behind to cut the butterfly, another die included in the set.
Behind the Scenes. A stamp from Touches of Texture creates a backdrop for the Sweet Sugarplum cardstock heart.
Finish it up by with a few matching Enamel Shapes and some Gold wink of Stella spatters. It’s difficult to see but “Sunshine” was covered with a thin layer of Clear Wink of Stella for a subtle shimmer.
Enamel Shapes Discovery! Originally the Sweet Sugarplum enameled heart was in a different spot. Beware, these enamel shapes are backed by a very strong adhesive. When picking up the heart with a piercing tool, this is what was left behind. I now have a smaller heart to use on a different project. Pretty cool, eh?
Send it! Don’t forget to mail it. Sending sunshine and hugs will always brighten someone’s day.
Now, it’s time to play. Here’s what you need to know.

Thank you Windy.
Such a darling card Rae! I love everything about it, but I think that gorgeous coloring job you did on the text is my favorite. I never thought to give that idea a try, I think I need to.
Lynn… thank you. Try it… it’s sooo easy!
Such a work of art, Rae! I love the spatters and multi-colored sentiment!
Thank you Michelle!
What an absolutely gorgeous card, Rae! This clinches it for me on that Sunshine bundle. That’s some truly fab sunshine there!
Thank you Terri…. so happy to be your enabler.
I hit the “next” button and here is your card, I only had to wait a couple of seconds to see it. Now that is service! I love how you did the sunshine sentiment and love all the splattering. If this doesn’t make someone smile when they see it, well they don’t deserve the card then! It is wonderful!
LOL! Thank you Chris!
Yep, this card is exactly why I love seeing your creations. It is fun, funky, whimsical and grungy… all in such sweet proportions!!
Thank you Katy…. it’s fun to be a little funky. 🙂
Rae, you always manage to put your incredible “stamp” on your wild west cards. The way colored “sunshine” is beautiful and the essence of your signature style.
Thank you Mary!
