Sunshine Wishes for PPA315
Yikes! This post, Sunshine Wishes for PPA315, almost didn’t happen!
Why? It sold the day after it was created. So glad most of the pictures were taken before it left the workshop. That was close!
We’re back with a fun and unique color challenge. This week’s challenge by Michelle Gleeson features something Old Olive and something new with Dapper Denim from the 2016–2018 In Color Collection. If those two colors don’t already look great together, Michelle added So Saffron for a touch of sunshine. Play along with us and strut your stuff. Let’s get started with some Sunshine Wishes for PPA315.
Have fun with this trio, but beware. If you’re not careful, Dapper Denim will overpower So Saffron and no one wants that. Right?
Tone it Down. Tame the dominate color by using the Stamp Off technique or use a gradient of the color, like in the background piece from By the Shore Designer Series Paper. You could also just use less of the power color.
Complete Package. Card, envelope and the perfect sentiment inside, make the package. Sunshine….
I chose Sunshine Sayings Clear Mount Stamp Set and Sunshine Wishes Dies (aka the Sunshine Sayings Bundles) to create this card. Make these colors shine with simple, bold images. This bundle is just the ticket.
The Butterfly is another scrap piece from trying a few different things when creating the inside sentiment. Don’t you just hate to through scraps away? This one landed on the Big Shot and became the butterfly you see here.
Accent the original pallet with Enamel Shapes from the 2016-2018 In Color (Dapper Denim), Subtles (So Saffron) and Brights (Old Olive) collections.
Now it’s your turn!

I love your card! My Sunshine bundle is in transit somewhere since last week. I don’t like waiting than I have to for my order. I want to play! I love the bottom of your tag and of course your butterfly!
Thank you so much Gloria! It was so much fun to play with. Hope your enjoy your new set.
I see why it sold on the first day, Rae. This is stunning. Love the treatment underneath the flower and the butterfly is darling… Might have to play with some colorful sprinkles myself… 🙂
Thank you Katy! I love this set!
Love it! Thanks so much for sharing!
Thank you Susan!
OK, this is one my favorites! Lovely.
Fabulous use of the Sunshine Wishes set Rae. I love that double banner you made and the whole card is just beautiful.
Thank you Lynn. Simple, bold projects are a real challenge for me. Hence, the word “Challenge”.
Adore your card and can see why it sold so quickly! How did you create the unique bottom to the focal point? It adds such a unique dimension to the card. Great tips when you have a strong deep color like Dapper Denim. Thanks for bringing the color palette to life.
Thank you Michelle. Thank you for the great pallet to work with! I created the banner by using the waves in the DSP as a guide. Sharp corners just didn’t work. “Mother of Invention” at work!
