Vintage Leaves, PPA321 and Pals
There’s nothing like a good red, vintage leaves, PPA321 and Pals on a crisp autumn day. Especially when I have the honor of being the featured designer at Pals Paper Arts.
The featured designer picks the color pallet or creates the design sketch for the week. Vintage leaves and rich, autumn colors are favorites of mine so it was easy to choose these colors. They could also be used for your Halloween creations.
Crisp autumn days bring out the warmth of gathering with friends. What better way to show your appreciation than with a nice bottle of wine or home baked bread. Even better, slip your gift into a clear, food-grade bag all tied up with a beautiful tag. Everything you need to pull it together can be found at Stampin’ Up! It’s easier than it looks. Correction, you won’t find the Red Truck Wine at Stampin’ Up!
Start with a 6″x 17″ Gusseted Bag. These bags are “food safe” so you don’t have to worry about food items being contaminated with chemicals. They come in packages of 25 so chances are, one package will be all you need.
Cut banners from your favorite Designer Series Paper and cardstock, punch the ends with a Triple Banner Punch and get ready to get inky.
Get Inky! Now the fun begins. Stamp and die-cut Vintage Leaves. Sponge, distress and emboss pieces for a dirty, distressed look. Make the pieces something like the the crinkled leaves in your yard. Use the Handheld Stapler to attach the layers to each other. Don’t worry about the staples showing. That’s part of the rustic charm.
Tie it up with ribbon, rope and sequins, add a little tag and you’re ready to share.
Now it’s time to play. PPA221 is waiting for you over at Pals Paper Arts.

Thank you Windy! I love this color combo. So warm and fuzzy.
Gorgeous! I don’t think you can mail wine from state to state so maybe you will need to remove that stunning “topper” and mail it to me anyway! Love the colors and all those gorgeous layers of texture!
Thank you Chris… Maybe I should. Christmas is coming up. 🙂
Rae, this is stunning! Loved working with your colors too.

Thank you for making this post your first comment. Don’t be a stranger Janice.
Absolutely stunning… I’m afraid the wine would age further because I wouldn’t want to disturb the packaging! A total WOW!
Thank you Debi. I know what you mean. I’ve been saving this bottle just because of the label. Now on to collect the rest. There are four different labels…. Pink Truck, Green Truck, Red Truck and White Truck….. http://www.redtruckwine.com/home.html
Wow, Rae… this “trimming” is gorgeous! You could easily do something similar for a special keepsake box topping. I adore the vintage look of the various banners and leaf. Adding the gold gives it a warmth. Totally pinned for a CASE, girlfriend!!
Thank you Katy!
