Love of Wonderful Friendships
Love of Wonderful Friendships for Kylie Bertucci’s International Blog Highlights-November.
Wonderful Friendships
I have a sad, sad story to tell. This card was created for Kylie Bertucci’s International Blog Highlights this month. But I missed it! Well, at least the scheduled post missed it. You won’t have a chance to vote on my project this month. You see, Kylie is in Australia and Australia doesn’t recognize United States time changes. Silly me for not thinking of that. But, alas, the show must go on. sigh…..
The theme this month is Love. Love of fur babies, friends, spouses, relatives, you get the idea. I chose friendship. So many times we think of all the wonderful things our friends do for us. How often do we actually drop them a card to tell them so. Are you guilty? I sure am.
The Layers are created all in Whisper White to focus on the message. When creating a mono-tone, multi-layered card, use things like embossing folders, Thinlits and Framelits, sponging to create texture and interest. Have you figured out which Textured Impressions Embossing Folder I used on the first layer?
The Edges are distressed using the blade of Stampin’ Up!s Paper Snips to bring an otherwise formal white card down a notch. Flirty Flamingo was sponged around the edges on the top layer before distressing them, The little flowers, part of the Bloomin’ Heart Thinlits Dies area also sponged with the same color to pull it all together.
Seeing Spots from the Timeless Textures stamp set is another way help make the white on white card a little less formal. Another kind of spot (White Perfect Accents) embellish the little flowers.
The inside is also sponged and distressed to carry the theme through then stamped with a matching greeting from the Dragonfly Dreams stamp set, perfect for celebrating a wonderful friendship.
Finally, the envelope please. The Timeless Textures stamp set has so many great elements for creating a romantic feel. The fluerdelie is perfect for decorating the lower left corner of your envelope.
Now that you’ve heard my sad, sad story, it’s time to go have a good long cry. You better believe I have the time set correctly for December! Happy crafting!
