Gingham Accordion for Creative Creases #43
Welcome to Creative Creases Challenge #43.
I have an easy Accordion Fun Fold for you today. It even holds a gift card. From the photo below it looks like a type of easel card too. You can never have to many gift card holders this time of year.
It’s a standard A2 size 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ so it fits nicely into a standard A2 greeting card envelope. Lets get started with the
Nuts & Bolts
Paper Cuts: (OUCH!)
- Basic White 3-3/4″ x 2-3.4″
- Basic White Scrap 3″ x 3″ for label
- Smokey Slate CS Card Base 1 piece 5-1/2″ x 4-1/4″;
- Smokey Slate CS Accordion 1 piece 4″ x 9″ Smokey Slate CS; Score on the long edge at 3″ and 6″. Burnish folds well with Bone Folder
- Smokey Slate CS Gift Card Holder 1 piece 4″ x 1-3/4″
- Smokey Slate scrap for label Background.
- Gingham Cottage DSP – 1 piece 5-1/4″ x 4″; 1 piece 3-3/4″ x 2-3/4″; 1 piece 3-3/4″ x 1-1/2″
Construction:
- Stamp greeting on 3″ x 3″ Basic White with Basic Gray Classic Ink. Punch with Decorative Circle Punch. Color in greenery with Garden Green Stampin’ Write Marker and Holly Berries with Real Red Stampin’ Write Marker. Set aside.
- Punch Smokey Slate Scrap with Decorative Circle Punch. set aside.
- Adhere 3-3/4″ x 2-3/4″ DSP on top most accordion panel.
- Adhere 3-3/4″ x 2-3/4″ Basic White on bottom most accordion panel. Decorate with DSP as shown below.
- Cut “V” in Smokey gift card holder piece by marking the center 3/4″ from the bottom. Mark with pencil. Cut from corners to the center mark. Do the same with the coordinating DSP piece. Adhere DSP to Cardstock. Then, using Liquid Glue, adhere the entire piece to the center accordion panel. Use caution not to apply too much adhesive. You must have enough room to slide the gift card in place.
- Adhere the 5-1/4″ x 4″ DSP to large Smokey Slate CS piece.
- Adhere the accordion piece to base with strong adhesive like Tear & Tape.
- Wrap a piece of Metallic Mesh Ribbon around top most accordion panel, with ends meeting in the middle. Apply liquid glue generously to hold this ribbon down. The glue will be hidden by the label.
- Cut Smokey Slate Label (step 2) in half. Position under Stamped Greeting piece from Step 1 making sure a little Smokey Slate CS shows underneath greeting label. Adhere to the back of the greeting piece with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Decorate with tiny pearls.
- One More Thing: If you need more room to write, adhere an additional piece of Basic White Cardstock (5-1/4″ x 4″) to the bottom of the card.
