Fun Folded Irresistible Blooms
Happy St Paddy’s Day! What a great day to have fun with paper. I have a tip, don’t play with your sharp tools after enjoying your favorite Irish grog. Could be dangerous. The Creative Creases Design Team will do our best to keep you from getting in trouble.
I have a Bay Window fold for you for Creative Creases #53. I love this easy fold.
The products I used are all from the Hello, Irresistible Suite from Stampin’ Up! It’s part of the new Online Exclusives. What are “Online Exclusives?” More on that later in the post.
Look closely at the Designer Series Paper to see a beautiful floral border peeking through the window. The foreground flowers where cut using dies included in the suite. The leaves and stem were fussy cut. All were adhered with liquid glue.
Loose Frosted Gems create flower centers and “scattered” about in the background.
What I Love about this fold….. Although this fold stands easily it also flattens out to fit perfectly in a standard A2 envelope.
Nuts & Bolts:
Paper Cuts
- Thick Basic White: 1 piece 4-1/4″ x 11 (Scored at 1/2″, 1-1/2″, 3-1/4″, 4-1/2″ and 5-1/2″); 1 piece 1″ x 4-1/4 (this piece is used to create closure)
- Basic White: scrap for greeting
- Designer Series Paper:
- For Window – 2 pieces 1″ x 4″; 1 piece 1-1/2″ x 4″
- For Sides – 2 pieces 3/4″ x 4″
Paper Tip: Use a different pattern for the sides to make the center look more like a window with trim.
Construction
- Fold card base in half at the 5-1/2″ score line. Burnish.
- Fold and burnish remaining score lines to create the bay window. The 1/2″ section at the end will be used as a flap to tuck under the panel in step 5.
- Adhere the left most panel down to the base.
- Adhere DSP to all panels, including the separate white “closure” panel.
- Adhere the “closure” panel to the right side of the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals or strips leaving a space to tuck the 1/2″ flap under it.
- Decorate the inside and outside as desired.
Less than 10 steps!
Now, about those Online Exclusives mentioned earlier. These are products that are introduced only online. Some will be replenished as they sell out and some will be limited to stock on hand. My recommendation… if you see something in the Online Exclusives section you really like, get it before it’s gone. Check out the newest exclusives by clicking the graphic below.
Now, it’s your turn. Create your fun fold and Enter Creative Creases #53.
I love this card! I did a quick “mock-up” to see how it works and have a question regarding folding flat for mailing. Does the center “window” flatten to the right, while the right window side folds under that center window, thus revealing a portion of the flat underside? How/where did you include your sentiment (referenced as “basic white scrap for greeting?”
Thanks so much!
Patti… first, thank you for your kind compliment.
1) for mailing, the front of the card does not tuck under the the right piece, letting the card lay flat for mailing.
2) The greeting/sentiment is the”hello” on the front. I did not decorate the inside for this post.
Hope that helps.
Wow, Rae, you showcased the new Hello, Irresistible suite beautifully! I have tried this fun fold only once. I agree that it’s a great one since it folds so easily for mailing. Hope all is going well and you have a wonderful weekend!
Thank you Debbie. I understand there are a few different methods to this fold. I really like this one because the “bay window” is centered.
