New Beginnings and Creative Creases #54
Welcome to the Creative Creases Anything Goes (with a fun fold) Edition #54 where we challenge you to put a few extra creases in your projects. My project celebrates the new beginning of spring. Will it ever emerge?
This fold is known as a collar fold. It’s commonly used in Father’s Day and Mother’s Day cards. I used the modified version to resemble a curtain so we can pull it back to reveal the beautiful flowers outside.
The beautiful paper is from Hello, Irresistible 6×6 Designer Series Paper (DSP). The name says it all. It’s so irresistible I had to order more before it sells out. It also features a couple of Stampin’ Up!s returning colors, Lost Lagoon and Pretty Peacock.
Instructions for this fold really need to be done by video. Since I’m not set up for videos yet, I won’t be posting instructions. However, I did a search for you and found a good one on YouTube. I’ll share that at the end of this post.
The flowers and paper leaves on the front of the card are fussy cut from the DSP. Then, I added some leftover wooden elements and gems from my stash.
The center flower is popped up on the top, outside edge only. The other flowers rest upon other layers removing the need for more dimensionals.
Last, we’ll dress up the inside with more of the DSP and a fussy cut bough of flowers from the Easter Bunny stamp set #160272.
The video I promised is from fellow Demonstrator Wendy Bronson. You can see her video here: https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=1136865363425650
Now, how about a challenge. Please join in on the challenge fun. Who knows, you may be picked as a winner from the team.
Thank you for visiting and
Have a Wildly Creative Day!

Very beautiful and elegant card! I could see this (changing sentiment of course) for Engagement, Wedding, Birthday, Anniversary, Mother’s Day; basically any occasion where it doesn’t require a more masculine touch. The DSP is definitely one that SU should keep in its arsenal like they did with the wood one for awhile.
Thank you Dagmar. I completely agree.
Hi!
I love your card! Happy Easter!
Thank you Linda
Such a pretty card, Rae! I love that DSP, and the collar fold is a great way to show both sides of the pretty papers!
Beautiful card, Rae! Looks like we love the new DSP! I will check out the tutorial – it looks like fun! Have a great weekend, my friend!
