Folded Hugs with Friends
Welcome to the Fun Folds Blog Hop where inspiration awaits.
While cruising the web to find an easy fun fold, I found this one from Jessica Taylor at Ink It Up With Jessica. It comes together quickly and has so many possibilities. The inside is an accordion fold as seen below.
Nuts & Bolts
Paper Cuts
- Bases – Colored Cardstock 1: 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ (2 pieces) (Coastal Cabana used here)
- Basic White Cardstock: 3-3/4″ x 11″, scored at 5″ & 10″
- Front Mat – Colored Cardstock 2: 4-1/8″ x 5-3/8″ (Daffodil Delight used here)
- Designer Series Paper: 4-1/8″ x 5-3/8″ (Enjoy the Journey DSP retired)
- Front Die-cut Piece: Basic White 4-1/8″ x 5-3/8″
Construction
- Create the front panel by layering
- Base + Mat + DSP + Die Cut piece.
- Fussy Cut or use Irresistible Blooms dies to cut 2 blooms from the DSP. Die Cut leaves from Hello Irresistible Blooms DSP as well. Layer and assemble bloom and leaves.
- Cut short pieces of Linen Thread to make loops and affix them tot he back of the flower you just created.
- Adorn with Pearls. Adhere to card front with strong adhesive.
- Stamp greeting on scrap of basic white. Punch and adhere to card with mini dimensions,
- Fold scored piece of Basic White like an accordion. Turn so 1″ panel is at the top and large pane l is on the bottom..
- Center and adhere the bottom panel to remaining base.
- Keeping the Basic White piece folded, apply glue to the 1″ panel. Glue the small section to the bottom of the decorated panel. If you’ve done it correctly, the two base panels will line up perfectly when the accordion is collapsed. When you pull up the front panel, it should open the accordion as in the second photo.
- Stamp and decorate the inside panels as desired. You could even put a gift card holder pocket inside.
