Season of Cheerful Folds CC65
It’s time for a new Creative Creases challenge. Thank all of you that participated in the last challenge. It was so much fun to see all of the beautiful entries. If you haven’t played in our challenge, there’s no time like the present. You’ll find a button toward the end of this post. First, let’s talk about the Season of Cheerful Folds.
Although I didn’t use a sleigh in today’s project, it is inspired by family stories of cold Wisconsin winters many years ago. Stories of wolves following the open sleigh carrying meat. Stories of how the cold saved my young grandma’s life she was taken to the hospital in an open sleigh. Her appendix had burst. So many stories.
Fun Fact: Sleigh bells served the dual purpose of communication and safety. The sound of bells warned others in the area that a horse-drawn vehicle was approaching. A horse pulling a sleigh through the snow makes very little sound, and could be very difficult to see approaching – impossible in a blizzard or a thick fog.
A simple version of this card was part of a card class. This card makes use of the extra kits and die-cuts leftover from that class.
Don’t stop here. The inside is decorated too.

Beautiful fun fold card, Rae! We were both using the same paper pack but show just how versatile it is – LOVE it!! Interesting family history that you shared! I wasn’t aware that was the reason for sleigh bells. Hope you have a great weekend!
Thank you Debbie. I love this DSP! Wondering if sleigh bells were the first backup alarms. Hmm. Have a fantastic weekend.
