Wild West Creatures and Critters
Welcome to the Stampin’ Pretty Pals’ Blog Hop!
This month, the theme is All Creatures Great and Small. We really hope that you will be inspired by all the amazing creations the Pals are sharing with you! Then, you will find the lineup at the end of my post to help you “hop” along from Pal to Pal.
When this month’s theme was announced I knew exactly which stamp set and Designer Series Paper I would use. The watercolor designs of Winter Meadow is rich with beautiful colors and images of nature. Stampin’ Up! knocked it out of the park with this DSP. The sheet I chose made it easy to create a project for our theme.
The biggest challenge with so much gray is keeping it from being drab. Use Moody Mauve and a brighter piece of the DSP for snow drifts and banner to brighten-up the scene. Adding a few silver gems to the tree makes it shine. Drifts are made using dies from the Open Sleigh die set. I cut them twice. Once with Basic White Cardstock and second from the whitest part of the DSP sheet. See the sheet below. The tree die is also from the Open Sleigh dies. I cut it once in Moody Mauve and second in a light gray portion of the DSP.
Add a little texture using separate plies of the 2023-2025 In-Color Jute Twine.
The little hare on the inside is part of the Horse & Sleigh stamp set. There’s even a die for the little critter in the coordinating die set.

Beautiful card! Where is the horse and sleigh bundle sold? Has it been discontinued? Thx
Thank you Martha. The items you’re wondering about have been discontinued. You may be able to find them on Etsy or Ebay.
Love these soft colors and lines….just a beautiful winter scene and unexpected colors!
Thank you Mary.
This card is stunning, Rae! The “vibe” is perfectly done and love the subtle addition of the Moody Mauve. I agree with you about that paper, too! Have a great rest of your week.
Thank you Debbie. I love how the image of the deer looks 3d on this.
Love the scene on the front and the bunny inside!
Thank you Windy. Love those critters!
Beautiful serene scene, Rae. I do like the touches of color, and I love the bits of frayed Jute Twine as an accent. Very pretty!
Thank you Karen.
Always fun to see how my Pals put their own stamp on the Hop!
