Pillow Talk is all the Buzz at Creative Creases #72
Welcome to the last Creative Creases Challenge of 2023. We hope this year has given you many hours of crafting and inspiration. This challenge (#72) will give you two extra weeks to create and enter. Until January 4, 2024 to be exact.
Since we’ll be crossing over to the new year, I’ve chosen to feature the Bee Mine Suite Collection of products from the new January-April, 2024 mini catalog (available to the general public on January 4, 2024). Perfect for Valentine’s Day.
No video tutorial needed for this one. However, I have included construction tips. Are you ready to get started?
My Fun-Fold is the little bee. The pillow box is actually part of the suite and it’s super easy to assemble.
Nuts & Bolts
Paper Cuts
- Designer Series Paper – 1″ x 10″
- Cardstock – Daffodil Delight 1 sheet; Basic White 1 small piece for the heart
- Vellum Cardstock – 1 sheet
Other
- Pillow Box
- Ribbon – 10″
- Ink – StazOn Jet Black or Memento Tuxedo Black; Sweet Sorbet (or other red to match your paper and ribbon.
- Bee Builder Punch
- Adhesive backed Hearts & Flowers
- Adhesives: Multipurpose Liquid Glue; Stampin’ Dimensionals
- Bone Folder A MUST!
Construction
- Assemble the box, place gift inside.
- Wrap DSP strip around the box adhering with glue where the ends meet.
- Wrap the ribbon around the box, over the DSP adhering with glue where the ends meet.
- Stamp “Love You” on Basic White Cardstock, use heart image on punch to crop, Attach to the box with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- Create the Bee –
- Use StazOn ink to stamp the body and wing images. Punch them out with the Bee Builder Punch.
- Construct the bee – See photos for guidance. Repeat steps 3 & 4 in the photo once more. Then, join both halves of the body together. You will have a flat bottom on the bee when done. Attach it to the box with liquid glue.
- Adorn with Adhesive Backed Hearts & Flowers.
Tip for stamping and attaching Vellum Wings.
- Stamping on Vellum: Set newly stamped vellum aside to make sure the images are dry before punching.
- Attaching Wings: Make sure you have the stamped side up when gluing the wings to the body.

Oh, Rae, this pillow box is too cute! I just love bees (at least the ones that aren’t bothering me LOL) and this one is wanting the prize inside the box.
