Double Diagonal Valentine for Creative Creases 74
Hope the new year has treated you with lots of crafting fun. A big thank you to everyone that took time to share wonderful creations for the last Creative Creases Challenge. Speaking of that, the Creative Creases Design Team is ready to inspire you to get even craftier with Creative Creases Challenge #74. You’ll find a link to enter Challenge #74 toward the end of my post.
Today’s project is a Diagonal Double Fold that can be used as a treat holder, gift card holder or little card all wrapped up with a belly band and lots of love tucked in.
Slip the belly band off to reveal a treat inside. Of course, these wouldn’t mail without extra padding and postage. It’s also the perfect size for a gift card.
Need room to write your love note? A piece of Basic White Cardstock adhered to the back gets the job done.
Let’s get started on the details.
Nuts & Bolts
Paper Cuts
- Cardstock –
- Real Red: 6″ x 8″, scored at in half, turn 90 degrees and score in half again.
- Basic White: 2-3/4″ x 2-2/4″ plus scrap for greeting piece
- Designer Series Paper:
- Most Adored (foiled heart pattern) 2-7/8″ x 3-7/8″ (3 pieces)
- Most Adored (red and white heart pattern) 3/4″ x 10″ for belly band
Construction
- Use the template below for Scoring and Cutting.

Here’s what your base will look like through the steps.
- Cut two of the Designer Series Paper rectangles in half diagonally. Adhere them as well as the 3rd rectangle to the base. Pay attention to the direction of the pattern.
- Stamp the Basic White CS rectangle or leave blank. Adhere to the back of the card base.
- Adhere candy or greeting card to inside of card.
- Stamp greeting on scrap piece of Basic White CS. Crop with desired punch. I used the retired Tailored Tag Punch.
- Adhere the treat with a strip of Tear & Tape adhesive.
- Wrap belly band around folded card and glue. Attach the greeting piece.
And, you’re done!
Tip: Make sure to use your bone folder on this one. Also, save the unused triangles to create a second card.
Now, it’s your turn. What will you create for Creative Creases Challenge #74?
