Painted Petals for SU Demonstrator Blog Hop July 2024
Welcome to another Fun-Fold with fellow Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators. Sit back, enjoy the view and maybe take a note or two.
My project is a Paper Pumpkin Alternate project. The July 2024 kit, Painted Petals, is full of beautiful water-colored blooms and backgrounds.
What makes this a Fun Fold? Let’s take a look.

A gift card holder mounted on a postcard. A postcard and a little pocket of fun, aka Fun Fold!
All you need is the kit, your favorite die-cut machine and embossing folder and a trimmer. Here’s what I did
Nuts & Bolts
Paper Cuts
- Postcard base: Cut Poppy card in half at the score line (4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″)
- Gift Card Pocket: Cut back, left-over piece from the Poppy Card to 2-3/4″ x 3-3/4″
- Gift Card Holder Base: Cut the back of one green card to 4″ x 5-1/2″, score at 2-3.4″ on long edge.
- Front Mat Layer: Inside of matching envelope cut to 3″ x 4-1/2″
- Front Poppy Cluster: Fussy Cut front of matching envelope.
- Inside Poppies: Fussy cut flowers and leaves from the die-cut Poppy panel.
Construction
- Dry Emboss the “postcard base” making sure the poppy image is on the back. I used Exposed Brick 3D Embossing Folder #161600
- Adhere the Front Mat Layer to the center of the postcard ( white side) with liquid glue.
- Adhere the back of the Gift Card Holder Base to the mat in step 2.
- Trim the Gift Card Pocket piece to hold a gift card. The long side is 3-3;4″; short side is 1-1/4″. Adhere to the inside of the Gift Card Holder with mini-dimensionals included in the kit. Make sure to place the dimensionals as close to the edge as possible so as not to interfere with the gift card.
- Adhere the poppy cluster to the front of the gift card holder with liquid glue. Arrange and attach three sequins.
- Stamp greeting on coordinating die cut. Adhere to the front with dimensionals.
- Stamp Inside greeting,
- Affix fussy-cut blooms to the inside as shown.
