Welcome to another Fun Fold Blog Hop with Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators, August 2024 Edition. Sit back and enjoy the show. 

I have a regal surprise for you featuring a sneak peek of the Regal Flora Bundle.  You’ll find it in the new 2024 Holiday Catalog from Stampin’ Up! The Regal Winter Designer Series Paper (DSP) is stunning. The colors are rich and vibrant. 

What’s the surprise?  See if you can guess. Jamie Albanese calls this fold a “Surprise Double” fancy fold. Not sure if it was originally created by Jamie. However, that’s who I CASEd to create my project today. She used a retired Stampin’ Up! Christmas DSP from the 2023 Holiday Catalog.

From the front it looks like your normal, everyday, A2-sized card. Then…..

… lift the flap to reveal a  Gate-Fold. Now…

… open the gate. There you find plenty of room to write your beautiful note.  Surprise!

Nuts & Bolts

Basic Cuts & Folds
  • Card Base: Night of Navy cardstock  8-1/2″x11″;
    • Score on each side at 2-1/8″ on the long edge
    • Turn 90* and score at 5-1/2″
    • Trim off the two ‘top’ outer rectangles.
  • Mats: Blackberry Bliss Cardstock
    • Front & Inside – 4″ x 5-1/4″
    • Gate Panels – 2″ x 5-3/8″ (2 pieces)
  • Focal Pieces:
    • Basic White scraps
    • Blackberry Bliss scraps
    • Foil scraps
    • Scraps of Regal Winter and miscellaneous DSP
  • Designer Series Paper (DSP)
    • Front – 3-7/8″ x 5-1/8″
    • Gate Panels – 1-7/8″ x 5-1/4″
Note: DSP used here is Regal Winter (#164156). You can order this DSP on September 6, 2024 when we’ll re-visit this post with a full product line-up.
 
Fun Feature: The Regal Flora label die cuts two pieces at the same time. Take a close look at the front label piece.  It looks like a mat of Blackberry Bliss has been placed behind the label.  In fact, the die cuts both pieces at the same time.  I adhered the “frame” piece from my label on the gate fold behind the Basic White piece to achieve this look.
