One-Eyed Purple People Eater
Several years ago I created this One-Eyed Purple People Eater for a challenge. Years have passed but this treat holder is timeless. The stamps and dies used to create this have been retired for a while now. Time for an update.
A closer look at the “Now”.
How about a quick tutorial?
Nuts & Bolts
Paper Cuts
- Black Cardstock Base: 3″ x 11″; score at 3-1/2″, 4″ and 7-3/4″
- Black Cardstock Tab: 1/2″ x 1″
- Designer Series Paper (DSP):
- Green 2″ x 3″
- Purple 2-1/8″ x 3″
- Orange 2-1/4″ x 3″
Construction
- Fold and burnish each score inwards.
- Punch a whole with the Modern Label Punch on the long end section of the cardstock
- Fasten the top edge of the punched section just below to the 3″ fold. This creates the pocket.
- Slip a small candy in the whole,
- Close the flap and decorate the front as wished.
- IMPORTANT: If the front flap is too long, wait to trim until the locking mechanism is in place. You can see by my photo below that I trimmed it a little to short.
- Create and attach the locking mechanism. See my Tips & Tricks below.
Tips & Tricks
- Front Decoration: Use “October 31” sticker and Designer Series Paper from Halloween Spells Designer Series Paper & Sticker Pack
- Adhere sticker to top edge of Green DSP. Fussy cut the bottom by following the jagged edge of the sticker. Repeat with every color.
- Bottom Tab:
- Adhere the sticker to the scored 1/2″ x 1″ black strip. Score in half (long end). Attach sticker end with Black Stampin’ Dimensional. Adhere the bottom of the black tab with very strong adhesive. I used Multi-purpose Liquid Glue.
How’s that for a make-over?
