It’s great to be back!  I missed you last month but I wasn’t sitting around twiddling my thumbs. I spent July getting ready for my “Christmas In July” event. Twenty-six crafters came together to kick back and have some crafty fun. I think this one will be an annual.

I bet you’re asking yourself, “What makes this wheel reinvented?  Well, you see, this started out like a normal A2 card I created for a class. Since I had never featured it on my blog, and I needed a fun fold for today’s challenge, it needed to be reinvented. I got to work, ripping, tearing and re-gluing until I came up with this cute beach scene easel card complete with spinning action.

Carry the celebration through to the inside with more tickets cut from the DSP. Personalize them by stamping with your favorite sentiment. 

 Popping up the inside strips carries the beach scene to the inside while creating a stop for the easel. Nice!

Construction

1.  Score, fold and burnish card base according to templates below. Set aside
2. Tear al?four DSP strips. Tear toward you gives you the white edge. Set two strips aside for later.
3. Build the beach scene on the Daffodil Delight Cardstock by adhering DSP layer and two strips as shown.
   1. Stamp “Happy Birthday” on one of the tickets [from the DSP]. Glue in place.
4. Adhere the Beach Scene piece to the top section of the base. Make sure to apply glue to the top section above the 2-1/2″ scoreline only!
5. Create the writing panel..
   1. Adhere the basic white piece to the bottom section of the card base (below the 5″ score line”
   2. Apply the second two torn strips to the very bottom of the panel with Foam Tape or Dimensional Strips. This will create the easel for displaying the card.
   3. Decorate the writing panel as desired
6. Die-cut two Ferris Wheels. Cut them apart using the images below as your guide. 
7. Assemble the Ferris Wheel.
   1. Wheel 1: Glue the little baskets in place, Alternatively you can color them. Decorate the center of the wheel as desired. I used an old star punch with a sequin.
   2. Wheel 2: Glue a metal nail spinner mechanism to the very center of the circle with a glue dot or liquid glue. Let dry.
   3. Center and glue Wheel #1 over Wheel #2 using a small dot of liquid glue to the top center of the spinner. Let dry. IMPORTANT! Make sure the wheel is completely centered and lined up with Wheel #2 or it won’t spin properly.
8. Adhere assembled Ferris Wheel to the card as shown in the photos above. 
9. Decorate as desired.
10. Spin away!
