A Case for Friday!
Yay! I’m making a CASE for Friday. Yeah, I know, it’s not that punny. OK, I’ll stop now. But really, this IS a CASE.
A while back a request went out for cards to CASE for FreeStyle Friday. This beautiful card (below) was submitted by Rosalie R. Thank you for such a beautiful sample Rosalie.
The first thing I do when casing is look at the basic design, creating template in my mind and sometimes sketching it on paper.
After that, a color combination is chosen based on the supplies on hand, the season and stamps in my “Tack Room”. In this CASE, Joyful Christmas, a new stamp from the holiday catalog was used.
In this CASE, the paper and ribbon do most of the work. The poinsettia, with it’s hand-drawn look, can be dressed up or down simply by the technique you choose. You can pick an accent color and stamp it or water color it, layer it, emboss it….. get the picture? Easy yes, boring absolutely not.
Inspired yet? Your turn. See what you can do with a simple CASE.
Don’t forget to check back tomorrow. Learn how to create your own pumpkin patch.

Chris, This is one of those all-in-one sets with so much possibility. I’ve seen some beautiful vellum creations with it as well as a treat bag. I may have to CASE both of them in the near future.
Thank you so much for your comment!
Magnificent card Rae. This set screams Christmas. ooxx
Thank you Lynda. I love hearing from you.
Gorgeous card! I have seen some really neat ideas with this set and now will have to reconsider it. I like that you left it uncolored and chose to let the paper and ribbon do the work! This could be one I tie to a present rather than mail. Oh, I see the other part where you list what you used on the center. It really looks cool! I love the sentiment too. Wonderful creation!
