A Last Farewell

It wasn’t difficult choosing the project to post for a last farewell to the 2012-2013 Stampin’Up! Annual Catalog. This one has many elements of color and texture that are near and dear to my heart. The good news…. only a couple of these items are retiring this year. The bad news, they’ll both be greatly missed in my “tack room” (aka studio).

First, Word Play (#120651 [c]). The versatility and flair of this sentiment set makes it easy to use. It covers just about every situation.

Then there’s the Flawless Fabric (Spice Cake #124066). I have to admit it took me a while to incorporate fabric into projects but no that I have, there’s no going back. From flowers to backgrounds and everything in between, this fabric is easy to work with and adds a bit of warmth and charm to any project. After checking the Retiring Accessories List I’m happy to say all the fabric found on pages 170 & 171 of the retiring catalog is still available. Better yet, it’s marked down 40%! Hurry, it’s gone after tonight at 11:59 pm Mountain Time!

#124066 Spice Cake Fabric

Use the Fabric Adhesive Roll (#122194) to give the fabric just enough body to run it through the Big Shot as I did here, using Framelits (Labels Collection #125598). Mount the fabric to a piece of card stock, add some Soft Suede Classic Ink (#126978) using Sponge Daubers (#102892) then lightly fray the edges with the Stampin’ Distress Tool (#127562) for more home-spun charm.

The Linen Thread was an afterthought so I used a long needle to lace it underneath the focal piece. After it was done, I noticed the twine on the inside flap was twisted. Drats! You know what we say in this craft… there are no mistakes, just opportunities for your creative genius to shine through.
