Doozy Daisy Creative Creases #58
Welcome to Creative Creases Challenge #58. My team mates and I hope to inspire you to try a new fold by the end of our posts. Make sure to visit the other design team members (Debbie Mageed and Karen Finkle) for even more inspiration. You’ll find a link to enter the challenge at the end of our posts.
I’m sharing drapery or pleated fun fold with you today. When you search for this fold on the internet you’ll find several different measurements depending on the width and number of pleats. Get out your ruler to see how easy this fold really is.
A personal request: Please take a moment to comment on our projects. Your thoughts help us grow and puts a huge smile on our faces. Watch for the “please comment” button toward the end of this post. Thank you.
Let’s get started.

The Cheerful Daisies Bundle (#161297) is the star of the show. The patterned paper used here is a piece of Stampin’ Up! Retired DSP (short for Designer Series Paper.) I don’t have the name of the paper, sorry.
Doozy Daisy Nuts & Bolts
Paper Cuts:
- Card Base: Basic White Thick – 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″, scored at 4-1/4″
- Inside Writing Panel: Basic White – 3-3/4″ x 5-3/4″
- Inside Mat: DSP 4″ x 5-1/4″
- Front Panel: DSP 4″ x 5-1/4″
- Curtain: – 4-3/4″ x 10″ cut and scored as shown in the picture below.
- Die Cuts – Scraps of Basic white, DSP and Crushed Curry
Assembly:
- Fold and burnish Card Base
- Adhere DSP panels to front and inside of the card.
- Start drapery piece by making a pencil mark 3/4″ down from the top left corner of the piece and up from the bottom right corner. Draw a diagonal line between the two marks. Cut on the diagonal line.
- Create the pleats by scoring and folding per the dimensions shown below. Burnish well. Your curtain will look differently depending on which side is up.
- Adhere the pleats to each other with a little liquid glue between the folds. Nothing worse than pleats gone wild!
- Adhere drapery to the card as desired. Embellish the outside and inside with daisies and gems.
Daisy Construction – Four layers make them POP!
- Bottom layer: Basic White (3 dies)
- Second layer: Crushed Curry (3 dies)
- Third layer: DSP (1 large die cut apart)
- Fourth and final layer: Basic White. (3 dies)

Your turn…. the button below will take you back to the challenge page. Thank you so much for joining us for Creative Creases Challenge #58.
I’ve bombed making the drapery fold before .. this card is sooo me that I have to try again. Thank you for this inspiration, love it!
You can do it!
Beautiful card, Rae! I really love the drapery fold but have NEVER done one before; What a great way to use DSP!! You got me wanting to CASE it very soon since I have lots of DSP to get out of my craft room. Hope you have a great weekend!
Debbie… this is my first Drapery fold. I know you’ll make it beautifully your own. Thank you!
Rae, first of all, I love a drapery fold. Secondly, you have me going on the DSP. At first I thought it was Mosaic Mood, then Eastern Palace but, alas, it was not! It’s beautiful in any event and I probably have it in my 7 bins of DSP!!
Thank you Karen!
