Faux Tri-Fold for Creative Creases #56
Welcome to another Creative Creases Anything Goes (with a fun fold) Challenge where you’ll find fun in the form of fancy folded cards. We challenge you to step out of your comfort zone and give your creations an extra fold or two.
I call today’s project a Faux Tri-fold Gift Card Holder. “faux” is in the tri-fold, not the gift holder. That would just be odd. Inspiration came from a card by fellow Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator, and Pal, Peggy Noe.
After the card was finished I realized it would be perfect for a 50th anniversary or retirement.
At first glance, no special fold. Take a closer look. The gift card holder at the bottom, is the faux fold. So, let’s get started.
You’ll need the products below to create the Faux Tri-Fold Gift Card Holder as shown here. Links to purchase these items are at the very end of this post.
Nuts & Bolts
Paper Cuts:
- Cardstock:
- Very Vanilla Thick
- 4-1/4″ x 9-3/4″ (scored at 2-1/4″ from the top and 2″ from the bottom);
- 1-1.4″ x 4-1/4″;
- 2-5/8″ circle (cut 2);
- 2-1/4″ circle;
- scraps for leaves.
- Brushed Metallic
- 3-1/2″ square
- Very Vanilla Thick
- Specialty DSP:
- Gilded Leaves SDSP
- 1-3/4″ x 4
- 2″ x 4″
- Gilded Leaves SDSP
Construction:
- Adhere the Gilded Leaves pieces to the corresponding flap
- Die cut Brushed Gold SDSP with the wreath piece from Irresistible Blooms Dies. Save the center piece to die cut three leaves from the same die set.
- Die cut three leaves from Irresistible Blooms from scraps of Very Vanilla
- Cut flag ends in the 1-1/4″ x 4-1/4″ piece of Very Vanilla to create a banner.
- Stamp greeting from Framed Florets in Blackberry Bliss on 2-1/4″ circle.
- Fold up the bottom flap. Adhere edges to the card base to create a pocket. I used Tear and Tape.
- Open the top flap. Adhere one of the 2-5/8″ circle with liquid glue. You’ll center the circle horizontally and glue down 3/4″ of the circle to the flap. See photo.
- Build the Focal Piece
- Close the flap. Center and glue down the piece from step 4 on the circle.
- Adhere the 2nd 2-5/8″ circle over the top of the banner
- Adhere the Brushed Gold wreath piece the the top flap and circle
- Adhere the stamped circle with dimensionals
- Arrange and adhere the leaves and gems.
- You’re done.
