Flutterbye Thanks for the Top Ten Hop
Flutterbye Thanks for the top ten hop.
Welcome to the August Top Ten International Blog Hop brought to you by Kyle Bertucci. Our theme this month is “Gratitude”. Butterflies plus Gratitude equals Kindness in my book hence my project, Flutterbye Thanks for the Top Ten Hop. It’s truly an honor to be in this group of crafters. Why? Because YOU cast a vote to get all of us here.
Butterflies (aka Flutterbies) are a favorite creature of mine. Not too hard to figure out why the Move Me Bundle fluttered right into my “Tack Room”. Pair that with the great texture of Embossing Paste and you’ve got a winner.
Rainbow Paste. You may have seen the videos showing how to tint the Stampin’ Up! Embossing Paste, Forget it for this project. In addition to the paste you’ll need your stamp pads (Daffodil Delight, Flirty Flamingo and Soft Sky Classic Inks are used here). You’ll also need Sponge Daubers or Stamping Sponges cut into wedges; Pattern Party Decorative Masks and Pallete Knives.
After applying the paste over your stencil, you’ll simply use the sponges to dab your desired color over the paste before removing the stencil. Make sure to secure the stencil over your cardstock with some Washi Tape or Painter’s Tape.
Delicate Details are created in a number of ways. First, about a yard of Gold Metallic Thread was coiled up to make a landing point for the large butterfly. Then both butterflies were cut from a piece of Whisper White cardstock that was smudged with Pool Party and Daffodil Delight ink. A second set of butterflies were cut from Vellum Cardstock and attached to soften the color. The same thing was done for the word “Kindness”. Lastly, soft sky dots from the Subtles Enamel Shapes were added to finish the large butterfly.
Look to the inside for a feeling of gratitude. Kindness really does flutterbye. The little butterfly hides a flaw in my stamping. Shhh… it’s our little secret. Don’t throw away your “mistakes”. They can usually be used somewhere, even if it’s just a piece of it.
There you have it! Now, hop on down to the next artist by clicking on the next person in the list below. You’ll be glad you did.
