Focus on the Sentiment
Welcome to the Stampin’ Pretty Pals’ Blog Hop!
This month, the theme is Focus on the Sentiment. Our Design Team are showcasing a sentiment as the focal point of their project. We really hope that you will be inspired by all the amazing creations the Pals share with you! As you hop from blog to blog, we would love for you to leave a comment. You will find the lineup at the end of my post to help you “hop” along from Pal to Pal.
How does one focus on the sentiment?
- Start with the sentiment and build your project around it; or
- Build the card first and choose the appropriate message.
For this project, I used method 2. I knew I wanted to use the Boughs of Holly Designer Series Paper as well as the Tree Rings Hybrid Embossing Folder and Dies.
Two colors, one phrase. Sometimes the phrase needs a little help to make a point. In this case, I stamped the greeting twice in two different colors (Cherry Cobbler and Mossy Meadow). Then, fussy cut two focus words and adhered them over the original color. Fussy cutting not your thing? No problem! Use Stampin’ Write Markers to apply color directly to the stamp.
After arranging tree rings and the sentiment it was clear the card needed more color. First, leaves were die-cut from the Boughs of Holly Designer Series Paper. Next, I added some color to the wooden Textural Elements using Old Olive and Real Red Stampin’ Write Markers.
Finally, smudge a little Crumb Cake Classic Ink to exposed edges with a Blending Brush for dimension and some Linen Thread for added texture. You’re done!
More inspiration awaits, so use the lineup below to visit the rest of the Design Team. The Pals are excited to show you what they’ve created! Then, please mark your calendars for our next blog hop on October 12th when our theme will be a color challenge!
Until then, have fun in your craft space.
