Four Feathers for Fall
Welcome to Pals Paper Arts Sketch Challenge PPA217. This Clean and Simple (CAS) sketch by Nicole Watt is perfect to showcase Four Feathers for Fall created with some of the new products available in the Stampin’ Up! 2014 Holiday catalog starting today.
When I saw the Four Feathers Stamp Set (#135053 cm) and Feathers Framelits Dies (#135852) it was love at first sight. Affordable and versatile, two of my favorite adjectives. Found on Page 42 individually or as a bundle to save you 15%. Let the creativity begin!
To create the background I started with a technique I introduced during the Pals Cool Tools blog hop a couple weeks ago. Click here to see more. Then stamped the larger feathers feathers over the top of the background. The fossil look is easy to achieve with these stamps. Just don’t try to ink the stamp evenly, then stamp them off once
Two of the small foreground feathers were stamped in different colors on Naturals White (#102316) and a third was stamped on Vellum Card stock (#101856). Stamping on vellum takes a little care. The ink doesn’t dry quickly. It smears and gets all over the place. Truth be told, the background was added because of ink getting where it shouldn’t be. I was very pleased how well the Framelits cut the Vellum Card Stock . I’ll be using it more often now.
The green “thread” is one half of the new Old Olive and Natural Two-Toned Trim (#135837). The two colors were separated leaving a soft group of green fibers. The perfect complement for our group of feathers. The fibers and the button were glued on with Multipurpose Liquid Glue (#110755) to keep them secure.
Feathers aren’t your thing? You’ll find lots of fun products and inspiration in the new Holiday Catalog. Did I say “Lots?”. I should have said oodles, and oodles!
