Free to be Me
Welcome to another “Free”-style Friday. Are you ready to kick back this weekend? Or maybe you’ll work in the garden. Maybe, this isn’t your weekend at all because of work scheduling. Whatever the case you have the freedom to make it great. It’s entirely up to you. Which leads me to the subject of this post… “Free to be Me”.
I actually had a completely different post scheduled for today but my monthly Cookies & Crafts event changed my mind. It’s always on the 2nd Thursday of the month at the Wet Hen Cafe in Reno, Nevada. You never know who will pop in and yesterday was no exception. We always make a quick paper craft (Make & Take) that’s pretty structured. However, yesterday I brought a few extra goodies. Guests were encouraged to feel free to make it their own. It’s always fun to see the results.
My original sample seed packet is shown below. There was so much creativity at the table yesterday that I came home and made a few more, using some of the ideas I saw.
For instance, Tonna created a “Flight of the Butterfly” effect with Pearls Basic Jewels.
Darn, I didn’t get a picture of her finished project. This is my own CASE of her seed packet. Great inspiration!
Guests were limited to the Papillon Potpourri Stamp Set, coordinating Elegant and Bitty Butterfly Punches, a 3/16″ Corner Punch and a variety of Baker’s Twine, Rhinestones and Pearls. Retired textured card stock and designer brads were also used.
There’s so much inspiration around us. The internet, nature, fashion, you name it. Start with a sketch or card you find on the internet then think outside the box and make it your own. It’s fun to limit yourself to a few supplies. That’s when the creativity really starts.
Today’s Featured Items:
- Stamp Set: Papillon Potpourri (#123759 clear mount,#132058 wood mount)

Thank you Ruth! I plan on offering free instructions during the “Free”-style Friday posts. The operative word is Plan! Thanks again.
What a great idea and I love the colors. This would be a cool favor for a ladies luncheon or tea or even a bridal shower. Putting this in my favorites. Thanks for sharing:)
Great idea Norma! the little one could also be used as a gift card holder. Thank you for your wonderful comment.
