Gingham Garden Picnic
Ready for the weekend? It will be here before you know it. Plan a Gingham Garden Picnic for some much needed rest and relaxation. You don’t have to go far. Your backyard or terrace will do quite nicely. Make your list today, get the food ready tomorrow and you’ll be ready to pack up the picnic basket and head outdoors. Don’t forget the gingham tablecloth!
When I saw the newest Sketch Challenge from Pals Paper Arts (PPA161) I immediately thought of a picnic table adorned with a cute gingham tablecloth and floral table runner. I was transported back to my childhood and backyard barbecues with the whole family.
Our house had many of these outside table linens in beautiful, vibrant colors. Some of them had texture and some smooth. But all had one thing in common…. playing host to great memories!
And of course great food and the occasional butterfly.
Feel Goods is the perfect stamp set for this picnic themed project. In fact, it has a sweet, uplifting sentiment to compliment any thought you may send. Everyone needs a a “feel good” statement from time to time. Lift a friend up and out of the blues or congratulate a job well done. You’ll even get a mood boost just working with the stamps.
And don’t forget the Paper-Piercing!

P.S. I wonder what kind of picnics they’re be the Reno Rodeo Cattle Drive. According to the reports, they’re due to arrive on time to kick-off the Wildest Richest Rodeo in the West, today! Here’s a video from the 2011 Cattle Drive. I don’t see anything for this year yet. Come back for updates. And yes, in case you’d like to know, I’ve competed in Cowboy Poetry with an old family poem. Enjoy the video!

Both of them are gorgeous Rae! I can’t even pick a favorite out to the two of them, just beautiful! Thanks for having fun with the PPA this week!
Yikes, Rae…you did it again! Such pretty colors, and you changed it up on your second card. Beautiful butterfly and paper piercing, and in just the right places. Love this.
Gorgeous, happy and summery cards, Rae! You are queen of the diagonal design. Thanks for playing at PPA!!
Rae, I love how you have used the Gingham Garden DSP! These are both such pretty cards!

Thank you ladies! Glad you enjoyed. 🙂
I just love the gingham pattern! It’s right down my alley. Such a pretty card!
I love this, Rae. This paper does have an old-time picnicky (is that a word?) feel but I really like it! We saw a pretty butterfly in the garden this morning that my grandson followed around for awhile and I was reminded by your butterfly! Thanks for sharing.
