Inspired Elegance
It’s Freestyle Friday and time for showing you what inspires me. Most of the time it’s hard to see a relationship between the inspired project and the original but not this time. If you’ve hopped over from the Wild West Facebook Page you got a good look at the original inspired by a Lynda H., a dear friend and fellow Paper Doll. Can you see the relationship between “Lynda’s Flowers” and “Inspired Elegance”?
I just love Lynda’s card. It’s so bright and cheerful.
The first thing needed was a lacy frame. Hmm, don’t have one. But I DO have left overs from the Simply Fabulous Simply Sent Kit. In fact, it’s my retiring item today.
This beautiful kit is a little deceiving. The card is actually just the lacy white piece. The green and gray pieces behind them are envelopes. I can see a scrapbook page using these in the near future.
The flower is created by using the “Fussy Cut” technique with Eastern Elegance DSP, also retiring.
After cutting out the pattern pieces, curl them lightly with your Bone Folder. This will break the paper fibers making them more pliable. Then, use a Glue Dot at each end, pushing up the center of the “petal” before adhering, saving you Dimensionals in the process.
As elegant as this card is, it really was pretty inexpensive to create. No special tools or stamps. No dies, punches or Framelits. The only extras were a piece of Crushed Curry card stock and some left-over Designer Series Paper! Now that’s wild!
A perfectly elegant card for a wedding or anniversary.
