It’s a Patterned Party PPA159
It’s a Patterned Party and time for a Pals Paper Arts sketch challenge. Ready to play?
I don’t know about you but in my book, bright colors, balloons and glitter spell PARTY in a big way! Why am I so happy? Many reasons.
First, a couple of my “Pals” (from our Stampin’Pretty Pals group) came into town yesterday to visit family. We’ve only met once, at the 2012 Stampin’Up Convention, but it was like we were old friends. We had lunch at my favorite little cafe, The Wet Hen, and had a fantastic reunion full of laughs and hugs. We’re hoping to get together this weekend for some paper crafting fun. They brought me some beautiful cards that I’ll share in the next few days.
Second, I’m celebrating the chance to show all of you some favorite from our retiring catalog.
Last but certainly not least, The 3rd Annual New Catalog Party with the “Pals”… tonight! Sorry, Pals only but if you’d like to find out how to join us in the future, please email me (rae@wildwestpaperarts.com). We DO have fun. What’s more, give us a “Test-Drive” now until May 30, 2013 and you’ll get $155.00 worth of Stampin’Up! product for $99.00. That’s $30.00 extra!
Now, back to our project. At first glance, this sketch overwhelmed me. Not sure why but even after standing on my head it didn’t speak to me. The only thing for sure was using a retiring set if possible. Success! I found two!
Many times I sell my retiring stamps but these are both keepers. Once the decision was made on the focal point, the rest came fairly easy. The only thing I waffled on was the color of the card itself. Every color in the designer series paper looked great. How did I choose? A very scientific method. With my eyes closed!
After all the elements were in place, a little glitter here, some Baker’s Twine there and finally a couple Brights Brads. Magnifique!
Originally, I popped up a few of the balloons but didn’t like the result. So, with the magic of our handy, dandy Adhesive Remover Tool I was able to replace the Stampin’ Dimensionals with glue dots. Glue dots gave the balloons a little dimension without showing the black ink behind them.
