It’s Amazing!
If you follow my blog and/or Facebook on a regular basis you probably noticed I’ve been MIA for a bit. Not only that, the VIP Newsletter that was supposed to go out on Tuesday, July 16 was not scheduled properly. I’ll send it out with the next Weekly Smudge. Yikes! It’s amazing how time flies and craziness abounds when there’s a chance to celebrate a milestone. The milestone was Stampin’Up!s 25th Birthday. And, what a party it was! Truly amazing!
The “You’re Amazing” stamp set and Ticket Duo Punch are the perfect choice for this week’s “Free”style Friday project.
The new “Off the Grid” stamp set added a little more character to the project. Wood mount stamp lovers…. this one is ONLY available in wood mount, at least for now.
These images remind me of the steampunk style seen everywhere these days. Since I’m still recovering from the high-energy party, I’m feeling a bit “punky” right now so a few stained and tattered pieces of Epic Day This & That Designer Paper fit right in.
The secret to this style? Think of the old TV Series Wild Wild West or the movie Hugo. Turn of the 20th century, forward thinking people, inventors and what may have been going on in their highly creative minds. How would they have used there imagination to influence everyday style. Old West meets Iron Horse and Steam Power. For this card to have been true to the style, I should have added some gears and more metal. Hope this helps.
Now, I bet you’re wondering how I might work the word “Free” in today. Well first, can you imagine what it must feel like to float away in a hot air balloon? Talk about freedom! But, I think I can do better than that.
How about the Mystery Hostess winner announcement for July? Will that work? Drum role please………
