Let Us Remember
I’m honored to be the Guest Stamper on Mary Fish’ blog today, “Stampin’ Pretty“. With Memorial Day upon us, it was easy to decide on the theme.
Memorial Day, originally called Decoration Day, is the day we honor men and women who gave their lives in military service. I had no idea that it was started to honor soldiers that died in the American Civil War. It was then extended during World War I to honor Americans that have died in all wars. Amazing what you learn when preparing for a blog post.
No matter how you celebrate the day, take a moment and say thank you to the families of these soldiers that miss them dearly.
I just love shaped cards. They make such an impact by shape alone. I find my templates at http://www.coloring-pages-kids.com.
The little hearts are from the 2-step Owl Punch #118074. I love these multi-image punches. I find myself reaching for them for much more than the main image, like here.

What a beautiful card! I followed your link to the coloring pages for kids to see templates there and couldn't find any. Where do you find them there? Thanks for the help!
Alesia

What a beautiful tribute – love everything about it.
Thank you Patti.
Rae This card is just perfect to honor our past and present service members. I was actually thinking about it for a thank you card. Our local AM-VETS played a big part in our son's Eagle scout project and I am thinking this would be the perfect card to send the club. I am so enjpying browsing your blog thanks for sharing your creativity
🙂
Thank you Kathy. Glad you enjoy the card and blog.
Although I’ve been in the tech world for 34 years now, I’ve only recently started to blog. So far I love it.
Fabulous and creative card Rae and it says it all for today so perfectly. Had a question for you. I checked out the link you included for a template but only found coloring pages…is there another section of that site I should be looking at?
Jean,
Here you go. If you loose the link, look at the index on the left of the site. There’s a subheading called Shapes Color Pages.

Hope this helps.

I saw your card on Mary's blog and just had to pop in and say hi. I am usually pretty chatty but I am sort of still speechless looking at your card! It is simply AMAZING! I agree with all the above comments! I could never do it justice – but I can use elements of it. My husband is a Dis. Vet and also is a civilian working for the Army. He has had the opportunity to visit some Fisher Houses and see soldiers back who are in the hospital. I have sent cards in the past and will keep this one in mind for the next time. Thank you so much for sharing your talent with us.
Thank you Chris for your wonderful comment.
Rae, I saw your card on Mary Fish's site. It is beautiful. Thanks for the thoughtful reminder to thank our soldiers for the many sacrifices they make (and have made) for us.
Karen,
You’re welcome! Thank you for the kind words and stopping by.

Sorry I didn't get this stamp set. I try and buy all the patriotic one's to have and use for our brave men and women. Beautiful Card.
Oh my gosh!!!!!!! This card is so great. I never bought that stamp because in my mind I couldn't figure out how to create a card that showed so many elements to honor all our troops across the world. But, You did!
Thank you Stella.
I bought it so I could have something patriotic for the soldiers. I agree, a little overwhelming at first.
Thank you for your great comment!
