Lots of Thanks
I never seem to have enough Thank You cards. Or maybe the correct phrase is never have the “right” Thank You card. They’re either to glitzy, or too feminine for some heartfelt, simply stated “Thank Yous” that seem just right for certain people. Sometimes I just need a strong, masculine thank you card. Between the Pals Paper Arts PPA170 Color Challenge this week and Stampin’ Up!s Lots of Thanks stamp set, the gap has been filled. Yay! It’s also available as an MDS Stamp Brush Set. And… it’s even available in French and German! Merci Stampin’ Up!
When this color combination popped up it didn’t SCREAM anything to me. Drats! Then, it started to whisper little hints here and there. Strong. Earthy. Masculine. Perfect! No frills here unless you call Burlap a frill.
Not too many tools were used on this project. However, if you want a really clean cut use the Craft & Paper Scissors by Stampin’ Up!. They’re super sharp, balanced and cut through fabric, ribbon and burlap like butter. But… hide them and don’t use them on paper. They’ll stay sharp for a very long time.
Lastly, just because a card is strong and masculine, doesn’t mean it can’t have a few little Neutral Candy Dots. A few of these little gems finish any project off nicely.
Here I used them without the bases. I tend to use them without bases most of the time. Why? Because the card is entirely put together when the go on. This way, the card isn’t ruined by brad prongs sticking through the card.
One more quick tip. If you want to keep your burlap ribbon from falling apart or fraying, apply a little Multi-Purpose Liquid Glue and let it dry. The point of the arrow is the piece cut away from the banner tail. Can you see the glue? No? Neither can I.
