Merry Little Tree for My Pals
I’ve got a merry little tree for the Pals Paper Arts Color Challenge today. Love this trio of rich, outdoorsy colors. I can almost smell the forest.
This calls for a project using the Festival of Trees Photopolymer Stamp Set (#135059) and On Point Textured Impressions Embossing Folder (#135876).
After recently ordering this set in the bundle (Tree Punch #135859 included), the dock worker’s strike started to affect items shipping from overseas. Since the stamps are manufactured in the U.S., the stamp came right away. However, the punch was put on backorder. Drats!
I’m happy to say the punch has been shipped but my project had a deadline. What to do?! I was definitely stuck. Then, thinking of these earthy colors again, it came to me. Burlap! If you’ve ever planted an evergreen tree you’ve probably noticed the root ball is wrapped in none other than burlap. Problem solved, my merry little tree is almost finished.
Now for the inside to complete the merry little tree for my pals.
Create the decorated phrase with the Masking Technique in three easy steps. You’ll need the Word Window Punch (#119557) and an extra scrap of card stock, any color.
- Punch a piece of card stock with the Word Window Punch (#119557);
- Place it over the phrase you’ve already stamped;
- Stamp the tree image over the top.
Now wasn’t that easy? Quick tip…. lighten the tree so it doesn’t overpower the phrase by stamping’ off some of the ink.
Try your hand at this easy technique. Then, show it off by posting to this week’s Pals Paper Arts Color Challenge (PPA226). Remember to use this week’s colors; Mossy Meadow, Cajun Craze and Soft Suede. You don’t even need a blog! All the instructions are on the Pals Paper Arts site.
Now for a sing-a-long. Where oh, where has my little punch gone? Oh, where, oh, where can it be?
Hope you enjoyed
